Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance Announces 2024 Inspiring Efficiency Award Winners

Chicago (January 8, 2024) – The Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (MEEA) today announced winners of the 20th annual Inspiring Efficiency Awards, honoring individuals and programs who delivered groundbreaking advancements in energy efficiency in seven categories: Leadership, Champion, Education, Impact, Innovation, Marketing and the Chair’s Award.  

Year after year, the individuals and organizations recognized with Inspiring Efficiency Awards prove to be exemplary champions of EE in their communities and of the clean energy economy across the Midwest. This year, the Leadership Award recognized Angela Tovar, of the City of Chicago, for her work bringing environmental justice to communities in Chicago and the Chair’s Award will be presented to Kristol Simms, Ameren Illinois, for her commitment to MEEA through her Board service. 

“This year’s Inspiring Efficiency Award winners are exceptionally notable for their commitment and dedication to making energy efficiency programs inclusive and accessible to those who need them most,” said MEEA Executive Director Paige Knutsen. “These are true leaders rolling up their sleeves and leading by example to make an impact advancing energy efficiency in the Midwest and expanding the clean energy economy. MEEA applauds their efforts, thanks them for their dedication and wants to share their stories to help others.”
