The Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance and the University of Missouri Lighting Research Center co-presented Solid State Lighting Solutions for Utility Programs on Wednesday, January 16, 2013. With nearly 70 attendees, the workshop was attended by utility representatives, lighting manufacturers, program implementers and energy efficiency evaluators. The program featured an overview of MEEA SSL programs and resources and case studies on current lighting programs in the Midwest. Presentations included:
Jason Tuenge, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, highlighted preliminary results and research directions for the DOE SSL Applications Roadmap for Energy Efficiency Programs. Download Presentation

Brian Sloboda, National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, shared findings from the Cooperative Research Network related to member pilots, including customer satisfaction and agricultural applications. Download Presentation

MEEA also briefed attendees on the Midwest LEDers Network which will connect utility program administrators, planners, manufacturers and implementers throughout the region to leverage resources, engage in strategic planning and coordinate program efforts on advanced lighting. The Midwest LEDers Network will serve as the source for information on SSL, providing important benefits to strengthen utility programs and promote program uptake.
