According to the DOE, an average building wastes about a third of the energy it purchases. While investment in an energy audit and retrofit can have a quick payback, the Savings Through Efficient Products (STEP) program allows public facilities to start saving money right away without an upfront investment, while simultaneously learning about next steps to becoming more energy efficient.
STEP offers qualified public facilities free, high quality, energy saving products. Whether a school, park, community center, library or other public facility, participants can save enough energy to power a single family home in the first year alone.
✔ Schedule and participate in a free onsite facility walkthrough assessment to gather product counts
✔ Install the free products shipped to your facility within three months of delivery and begin saving energy, money and maintenance time
✔ Complete the Installation Verification Form detailing where products were installed
✔ Discover additional incentives, rebates, programs and educational opportunities available in Illinois via a customized report
Do you represent an Illinois public facility?
STEP serves a limited number of public facilities each year, so add your name to our sign-up list today.
The 2016-2017 sign-up list is now open. Please register here to provide the information necessary to establish eligibility and begin the STEP program. All facilities on the list will be contacted regarding their status. In the meantime, feel free to reach out to email@example.com with any specific inquiries.
Signing up for the STEP list does not commit your facility to participate or infer STEP’s ability to accommodate your facility.
Interested in Bringing STEP to your state?
Part of the STEP program’s strength lies in its scalability and potential to educate and engage a wide range of public facilities around new incentives throughout an ever-expanding region. Already the program demonstrates a propensity for rapid growth, exceeding first year participation goals by 50 percent and necessitating a Wait List to capture interest beyond program capacity.
