Building Energy Codes Activity:

  • The Michigan Residential Code Review Committee voted to approve a new statewide building energy code for residential buildings.  The new code is based on the 2012 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC).  The state code agency, Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) sent out a press release lauding the committee’s action, which can be found on the LARA website here.   The statement includes approving remarks from both the Michigan Home Builders Association and Dow Building and Construction.
