Hello MEEA members
A reminder that the MEEA Governance Committee is looking for interested, active members to submit their organization for MEEAs 2012-2013 Board of Directors. New board members will serve MEEA for a two-year term. Details on candidacy requirements and how to apply are below.
MEEA is seeking several new Board Members and given the diversity of the membership and current Board, preference will be given to organizations that are Academic, Research & Advocacy Organizations and State & Local Governments, though all interested parties are encouraged to submit credentials.
Specific details of Board responsibility include:
Attend quarterly day-long Board meetings. Board members must attain at least 50% in-person attendance each year and a 75% total participation (i.e. one Board meeting is missed and one meeting called in). Exceptions will be made on a case-by-case basis.
Board members must actively participate in at least one committee or advisory group.
Board member organizations should be represented at the MEEA conference and annual membership meeting.
Board member organizations should sponsor and/or assist with promoting MEEA events, where possible.
To be considered, your organization must be a member in good membership standing and you personally must be active in any of MEEA’s committees, program or policy committees or conference advisory group.

All submissions are due Friday, February 18th. The Governance Committee will then review all applicants and produce a slate of candidates to be voted in during the June Annual Membership Meeting
