Carmen Welch is the Director of Energy Efficiency at DTE Energy, where her impact spans over two decades. Her leadership has been instrumental in driving success across various business units within the company.

Before assuming her current role, Carmen held several key positions at DTE Energy. As the Director of DTE Electric Business Performance, she oversaw critical aspects of long-term planning and operational measurement systems. Additionally, Carmen led teams responsible for Billing and Metering and Customer Experience. Her expertise extends to DTE’s implementation of SAP and management of Electric service center operations.

Carmen’s journey with DTE Energy began in 1999, and her ascent through the ranks reflects her exceptional abilities. Her diverse background includes contributions across departments such as Supply Chain Management, Customer Service, Information Technology, and Corporate Strategy. Carmen’s knack for navigating complex challenges and driving results has been pivotal in her career trajectory.

Prior to joining DTE Energy, Carmen worked as a consultant for reputable firms, including Deloitte & Touche. During this period, she contributed on process improvement initiatives across diverse sectors, including manufacturing, utilities, retail, and nonprofits.

Carmen holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with distinction from the University of Michigan.
