Energy efficiency award recognizes CenterPoint Energy’s contribution to light rail project

MINNEAPOLIS - March 19, 2012 - The Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (MEEA) recently recognized Energy Innovation Corridor project partners, including CenterPoint Energy, for their contributions to the Twin Cities light rail project, an energy-efficient venture that connects Minneapolis and St. Paul.
The Inspiring Efficiency INNOVATION Award recognizes companies like CenterPoint Energy for developing and implementing new and innovative programs, ideas or policy in the Midwest. MEEA presented the award to Energy Innovation Corridor(EIC) project partners at the Midwest Energy Solutions Conference in Chicago. 

"CenterPoint Energy is extremely grateful for this recognition and proud of the partnership with Xcel Energy and other energy providers and advocacy groups in Minnesota working on the Energy Innovation Corridor," said Tal Centers, CenterPoint Energy division vice president, Minnesota Operations.  "Environmental awareness and support for projects that aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions help people in our community live healthier, while also lowering overall energy use."
